Michael Aspiras
Michael Aspiras entered the Cadet Program (formerly Explorer program) on October of 2005, at West Valley Cadet Post 515, as a recruit. On February 4, 2006, he entered the Cadet Academy, Class of 86, where he was challenged both physically and mentally. On May 20, 2006, he not only completed the academy, but sang the national anthem at his graduation.
From that day on, and throughout his career as a Los Angeles Police Cadet, he has made many notable achievements as well as continuing to serve his community. He sang the National Anthem for every National Night Out at West Valley, since 2006; in December of 2006, he was given the Cadet of the Year Award for continued service and outstanding efforts in keeping the Cadets motivated, and for serving the community; in December 2007, he not only promoted to the rank of Cadet Sergeant, but was also given the Most Spirited award, the Crime Prevention ribbon for continued service working with the Topanga mall, the Community Service ribbon for having volunteered over one hundred hours, and the Tenure Service ribbon for outstanding service.
In December of 2008, Aspiras transferred from West Valley to Topanga Area Police Station and became one of the three original Cadets for Post 2100. In January of 2009, he had the honor of raising the flags at the Topanga Area opening ceremonies and has been a member of the Topanga Area family ever since.
On March 15, 2009, Aspiras promoted to the rank of Cadet Commander. He was one of only twelve Cadets that held the Commander rank.
Currently, Aspiras is a member of the United States Coast Guard. He plans to go to college and later hopes to continue serving his community by joining the Los Angeles Police Department and to continue the traditions of the Los Angeles Police Cadet Program.
Shahrad Shahseta

Shahrad Shahseta was born on May 7th, 1991. He was a Los Angeles Police Department Cadet for four years. He graduated the Los Angeles Police Department Cadet academy at the age of fifteen and exceeded above his classmates to various positions of leadership. He graduated from El Camino Real High School representing the class of 2009.
As a Los Angeles Police Department Cadet, he has had the experience of a life time working with great Officers throughout the department and learning how to protect and serve the citizens of Los Angeles. His career as a Cadet started at West Valley Division serving from June 2006 till December 2008. in January 2009, he transferred to Topanga Division with two other Cadets and became part of history.
Since joining Topanga he has promoted to various positions of leadership such as Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and most recently Commander. In addition, he has received many Certificates of Recognition throughout his service at Topanga and West Valley Division by assisting Vice Officers with many operations and being a member of the Cadet Congress of Youth Mentors. With this accomplishment, he has set the challenge for current and future cadets who wish to join for challenge and adventure.
On December 2nd, 2009 he joined the United States Marine Corps. On August 23rd, he will ship out to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego for recruit training and become a United States Marine. His goals in life are to graduate from a four year institution such as George Washington University or University of California Los Angeles and receive a Masters of Arts in International Relations. A career he wishes to pursue in the near future is to become a Los Angeles Police Officer.
